The birds no longer sing, the wind blows, the rain falls, and temperatures drop. Every winter, it’s a battle against the cold, and today we are here to help you win this fight. Wondering about the key to victory? Our answer is the Sherpa fabric! This material is the highlight of this winter, and we will explain why.
What is Sherpa Material ?
Sherpa is a synthetic material, usually made from polyester, but can also include acrylic fibers or cashmere wool mixed with synthetic fibers. Domotex’s Sherpa fabric is 100% polyester.
Properties of Sherpa Material
Sherpa resembles wool in appearance and offers excellent warmth and comfort. It’s named after the Sherpa people from Tibet due to its wool-like texture. Sherpa fabric is soft, resembling faux fur, and provides a cozy feel.
Differences Between Fleece and Sherpa
Although both are types of fleece, Sherpa is warmer, more durable, and quick-drying. Unlike ordinary fleece, Sherpa is not made from cotton, providing better resistance to deformation and mold.
How to Care for Sherpa Fabric ?
Sherpa can be hand-washed or machine-washed on a synthetic or delicate cycle at temperatures not exceeding 40°C. Avoid ironing, but if necessary, iron at low temperatures inside out.
Sherpa Fabric for Creative Projects
When you think of Sherpa, you think of warmth. This fabric can be used for various creative projects, especially those aimed at winter.
In the clothing sector
Sherpa fabric is widely used in the clothing industry for its warmth and comfort. It’s ideal for winter garments like jackets, coats, hoodies, and accessories such as hats and gloves. Its wool-like texture and soft, cozy feel make it a popular choice for cold weather apparel, providing both style and functionality.
In the decoration sector
Sherpa fabric is perfect for home decor projects due to its soft and cozy texture. It’s commonly used for making blankets, cushion covers, throws, and even upholstery. Its warmth and comfort make it an excellent choice for creating a cozy atmosphere in any room.
